We started the month with another successful track day, this time at Blyton Park, Lincolnshire. What a fantastic track! It is very flat, unlike what we were used to at Donington Park, but the car suited the twisty circuit: especially the fast, winding straight leading up to the pit entry.
The car ran perfectly all day, despite the self-tapping screws failing on the fuel tank guard, meaning we had a very slow and noisy lap into the pits!
It was great to have a lot of family, friends and supporters with us at the track all interested in the progress we have made since the start of the year.
Since the track day, we have been spending some time fitting the master switch… and it works! Geoff Beeby, Mark’s father-in-law and Joshua’s grandad, is a retired electrician and was kind enough to spend the day with us getting everything wired in and working.

After receiving some advice from Robin Welsh at the BRSCC’s “Driven by racing” event at the end of 2023, we decided to use a BMW gearbox mount to earth the master switch, and it works a treat.

The car is back in storage for the time being while we prepare to upgrade to the Apex lowering springs amongst some other upgrades which we are yet to buy.
