The work continues…

So quite a few updates this time, including plenty of small jobs and work behind the scenes preparing for next season.

Continuing from the last post was fitting new rear brake shoes. After trying for some time Mark and Joshua gave up and sent for help! This was in the form of a good friend Jason who is a full time mechanic and qualified MOT tester. He had the brake shoes fitted and also helped upgrade to braided brake hose all round in no time. Brakes bled and set up ready to go!

Whilst we had the car off the ground the work to finish the suspension upgrade was completed. New KYB front shocks and Apex lowering spring all round. We managed to keep all of our fingers despite the trauma of the spring compressors!

You might also remember that last time out at Blyton Park we lost the fuel tank guard so this was re fitted.

Next up front towing points. Two are required in the regulations so two long Lifeline towing eyes were bolted into the front crash bar and mounted through the front bumper – hopefully we won’t need these! 🤞

Also some of the most important parts are the master switch and fire extinguisher pull cables. Our electrical knowledge is very limited so we asked Geoff (Marks father in law and Josh’s grandad), to come out of retirement for a day to help. We now have a super neat and tidy working master switch and fully fitted fire extinguisher with working pull cables – safety first!

We also added FIA approved roll bar padding to the roof sections, a wide angle rear view mirror and blind spot mirrors to the wing mirrors.

It occurred to us that neither Josh or Mark have an ARDS licence yet, so another £110 each was paid to get the starter pack ready to book the tests soon.

More updates soon but as always if you would like to support us in our journey we have some brilliant merch we can supply and are always hugely grateful for any sponsorship, whether that is hard cash, discounts off purchases or just liking and following us on social media!
